My grandmother’s house was my first exposure to collections. She loved to find treasures and display them in her home. Her eclectic collections included clocks of all shapes and sizes, colorful roosters, and Elvis memorabilia. Collecting became an important bond between the two of us and we frequently exchanged letters where we would share shopping trips and new purchases. It was following in her footsteps that led me to the creative outlet I had been seeking for years. Who would have guessed that my “creative” job would be selling vintage wares? Although most people think that creativity means making something from scratch, I find scouting flea markets, thrift stores and estate sales for the perfect merchandise an intensely satisfying and creative process. The added joy is bringing those treasures to you.
You’ll find a variety of vintage styles at 1006 OSAGE. My personal favorites are Folk Art and Scandinavian/Nordic Modern. I also love art of all kinds: oils, watercolors, sketches, collage, art glass and art pottery. My design philosophy is that if you really love something, it will work in your space. I believe it is important to not just follow trends, but find what truly speaks to you.
