Jug of parian porcelain with molded decoration by TJ and J Mayer, England, c1850. The body is made to appear as a tree trunk with peeling bark, and a handle as a branch. On one side, a boys climbing up to reach a nest with baby birds, and on the other side is a boy sitting on a branch holding a nest on his knees. The bark has been colored with brown slip, and it is glazed inside. This is a lovely collectible and usable piece.
