Beautiful ceramic tile featuring Renaissance beauty Simonetta Vespucci, cousin-in-law of Amerigo (after whom the Americas were named), from “Portrait of a Woman” attributed to the workshop of Sandro Botticelli, ca. 1480s – Shipping included within contiguous United States only–details below.

The tile measures just under 8″ square (7 7/8″) and has a lovely blue gray glaze. Simonetta was considered the greatest beauty of her time and is said to have been Botticelli’s inspiration for his most famous works, Primavera and The Birth of Venus, although experts dispute this. She died at just 22 years of age. The second image shows “Portrait of a Woman” from the workshop of Sandro Botticelli. This tile, made in Italy, is perfect for shelf styling on an easel; or add a hanger and include in a gallery wall. Excellent preowned condition with no damage. Easel not included.
