Charming framed antique print of a work by Franz Lefler (Austrian, 1831 – 1898) featuring a classically-inspired scene of two maidens in gossamer gowns and five frolicking cherubs in a bucolic setting–the fifth cherub is Cupid and he’s swooping down from the heavens bearing a love letter. The print is framed under glass in a period gesso-on-wood gold frame. The backing and hanger are newer. Beautiful soft colors. Lefler specialized in allegorical themes and portraits of children, as well as ceiling murals and theatre curtains. See below for measurements and condition.

MEASUREMENTS: 21.75″ x 11.75″ x 1 1/8″
CONDITION: Very good preowned antique condition. The frame has a few nicks on the corners and and scuffs and scratches consistent with age. There’s a tear on the print, in the center near the top edge. See photos.
